What do the published figures actually cover?
Save The Day Restoration's LA and Orange County guide, a seller's price page, gives $1,500–$5,000 for a minor one-room clean-water example, $5,000–$15,000 for moderate multi-room work and $15,000–$50,000+ for severe loss. HomeAdvisor's U.S. guide lists $3–$4 per square foot for clean water, $4–$6.50 for gray water and $7–$7.50 for black water. Neither source quotes an Inglewood provider.
How is the illustrative calculator calculated?
Use a previously known affected floor area from 10 to 5,000 square feet and choose a provisional planning band. Do not enter a damaged area to measure for this calculator. The clean, gray and high-contamination bands use the HomeAdvisor ranges above; “not sure” spans $3–$7.50 per square foot. The lower drying base is the greater of area × lower rate or $500; the upper base is the greater of area × upper rate or $1,500. Those minimums come from Save The Day's stated $500–$1,500 initial service range. Each displayed endpoint rounds outward to the nearest $100. The input does not diagnose contamination.

Which repairs can be added without doubling the drying base?
Separate optional ceiling repair adds $450–$1,600 and drywall repair $300–$850, from HomeAdvisor. Save The Day lists carpet removal $2–$4 plus installed carpet $4–$12 per square foot, modelled as $6–$16 for distinct carpet area. Hardwood removal $4–$8 plus replacement $8–$20+ gives $12–$28+ for distinct hardwood area. Repair area cannot exceed the entered affected floor area, and an open upper bound remains “or more.” Source repair, mold treatment and an actual provider's charges are excluded. Do not separately add equipment time already included in a provider's extraction-and-drying quote.
What should you take from the result?
The result is a planning range, not a bid, insurance benefit or a classification of the water. Ask a provider for itemized work and your insurer about policy coverage. The insurance article explains why an outside-water loss raises a different policy question. Call +1 (424) 312-0053. Calls currently go to voicemail, not to a live provider.
